Kim Won-soo

Amb. KIM Won-soo is the Rector of the Global Academy for Future Civilizations of the Kyung Hee University in Seoul, Korea, where he focuses on global governance solutions to enhance cooperation. Previously, he served as the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament. Over a decade, he coordinated the UN’s responses to global challenges in various high-level roles. Prior to that, he spent three decades as a career Korean diplomat including the Secretary to the President of the Republic of Korea for international security, as well as foreign affairs and trade. He holds a Bachelor of Law from Seoul National University, Korea and an MA from the SAIS of the Johns Hopkins University, and was a doctoral candidate at Stanford University Law School, USA.
