Shanghai Forum 2013 Summary Meeting washeld at Room 701, East-main Building of Guanghua Towers on June 21, 2013. FudanUniversity Vice President Lin Shangli, Shanghai Forum Organizing Committee,some members of the Academic Committee and panel chairs attended the meeting.
The meeting was held by Prof. ChenYinzhang, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Forum Organizing Committee andAdvisor to the President on International Affairs of Fudan University. Duringthe meeting, Prof. Zhang Yi, Executive Vice-Secretary-General of the ShanghaiForum Organizing Committee and Director of the Forum Secretariat Officesummarized the just concluded Forum in five aspects of its organization,participants, academic products, media coverage and innovative highlights,after which Prof. Xiao Xijian, Director of Publicity Department dwelt on theForum’s publicity scheme and its resulting effects. VP Lin highly praised theorganizational work of the Forum and expressed gratitude to all working staff.He also looked forward to future development of the Forum and wished it tobecome a brand of Fudan University through sincere collaboration and continuingefforts of all related parties.
The Shanghai Forum 2013 consisted of foursub-forums: economics & finance, politics & law, urbanology &sociology and environment & energy, under which there were ten panels, fiveroundtables and two pre-sessional roundtables. Compared with previous rounds, theForum expanded its research fields and promoted its academic influence byintroducing new topics concerning public health and climate & environment fordiscussion and launching featured roundtables of finance, think tanks and ChinaFinanciers Club. The Forum attracted 678 participants from 34 countries andregions. More than 60 seminars were held and above 380 delegates madepresentations during the three-day meeting. Diversified academic products ofpanel research reports, Asian studies reports, two volumes of selected papersof Shanghai Forum 2012, perspective highlights, interviews with guests, etc.have been published so far, which preserves and spreads the discussion fruitsof the Forum.
