Director-general and President, Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center

Professor Wang Xinkui,economist and famous expert in macro-economics, was born in Shanghai inJanuary, 1947. Long specializing in international business and investmenttheories and government decision consulting, he is one of the founders ofChina’s consulting research on the global system of multilateral trade. Inrecent years, Professor Wang has made a series of breakthroughs in the researchon the trend of economic globalization based on Global Value Chains analysis,and the reconstruction of rules of global business and investment, which makesan important contribution to China’s policy making in opening strategy andexecution after joining WTO.

 

Professor Wang Xinkui iscurrently the Director-general and Presidentof Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center, member of the Advisory Committeeon Business Policies of the Ministry of Commerce, government decisionconsulting expert in Shanghai Municipal Peoples Government and expert withallowance from the State Council. He has won the honor of National ExcellentTeacher, Youth Expert in Contribution in the Ministry of Labor and Personnel,etc. He used to be the Vice-Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry andCommerce, the Vice-chairman of Shanghai Political Consultative Committee, theChairman of Shanghai Industry and Commerce Association, the Director of theCounsellor Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and Standing CommitteeMember of the 11th and 12th Chinese People’s PoliticalConsultative Conference.
