Jiao Yang started her chancellorshipat Fudan University in September 2016. As an established professional and executiveeditor in media and journalism, she has committed herself to the modernizationand globalization of China’s publicmedia governance. She was the secretary of the Youth League Committee of FudanUniversity, the vice director of the News Office of the Municipal Government ofShanghai, the head of the Bureau of Press and Publication and the CopyrightAdministration of Shanghai, the vice director of the Publicity Department ofthe Communist Party of Shanghai, the director of the Committee of SpiritualCivilization Construction of Shanghai, the chairperson of the Women’s Federation of Shanghai, the vice chairpersonand secretary of the All-China Women’s Federation.She was also the 10th and 11th member of the Municipal Committee of Shanghai,the 11th member of CPPCC (Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference),the 14th and 15th the representative of the Shanghai Municipal People'sCongress.
Jiao Yangreceived her Bachelor’s degree in Journalismfrom Fudan University and her Master’s degree inBusiness Administration from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
