Jiao Yang

Chairperson of the University Council, Fudan University

Jiao Yang started her chancellorship at Fudan University in October
2016. Before that, she was the vice chairperson of the All-China Women's
Federation. As an established professional and executive in media
and journalism, she has committed herself to the modernization and
globalization of China's public media governance. She was the vice director
of the News Office of the Municipal Government of Shanghai (1997-
2008), head of the Bureau of Press and Publication and the Copyright
Administration of Shanghai (2008-2011), the vice director of the Publicity
Department of the Communist Party of Shanghai (2011-2012), and the
Chairperson of Shanghai Women's Federation (2013). JIAO Yang was the
first spokesperson of the Municipal Government of Shanghai. She was also
the 10th and 11th member of the municipal committee of Shanghai.
JIAO Yang received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Fudan University
in 1983, and her master's degree in business administration from the Nanyang
Technology University in 2006.
