Zhu Zhiwen

Chancellor, Fudan University Chair, Shanghai Forum Organizing Committee

Mr. Zhu Zhiwen, born in October 1958 in Fujian Province, China, is Chancellor of Fudan University. He graduated from the Department of Economics, Xiamen University.

After graduation, Chancellor Zhu served consecutively as Vice Chairman of Youth League, Vice Chairman, and then Chairman of the Department Council of International Economics and Trade at Xiamen University. In 1989, he was appointed Director of Xiamen University General Office for CPC Affairs, after which assumed the position of Assistant to the President of Xiamen University for two years from 1991 to 1993. In 1993, he was appointed Vice President of Xiamen University, serving in this position until the year 2000. 

Chancellor Zhu was transferred to the government of Fujian Province in March 2000, appointed concurrently as Chairman of the Education at the Working Council of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Chairman of the Council and Director General of the Department of Education, Fujian Provincial Government. In June 2005, Chancellor Zhu was appointed Secretary of the CPC Ningde Municipal Committee. One and a half years later, he was transferred back to Xiamen University, serving as Chairman of Xiamen University Council. In September 2011, Chancellor Zhu was appointed Chancellor of Fudan University.
