Chey Jae-won

Vice Chairman and CEO of SK Holdings

Mr. Chey Jae-won holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Brown Universityand a Master’s Degree in Materials Science from Stanford University. He also holds an MBA from Harvard University.

After working as a research associate at Brown University from 1986 to 1987, Mr. Chey began his corporate career at Sunkyoung USA in 1989. Between 1993 and 1994, he served as Vice President of Yamaichi International America in New York. Following his post at SKC Ltd. as Vice President from 1994 to 1999, he went on to SK C&C and served as Vice President from 1998 to 2005. Between 1999 and 2004, Mr. Chey was also Executive Director, General Manager, and Executive Vice President of SK Telecom. Since 2005, he has served as Vice Chairman and CEO of SK E&S. From 2006 to 2010, he was Vice Chairman and CEO of SK Gas. Between 2009 and 2011, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors for SK Telecom and Vice Chairman & CEO of SK Holdings. Since 2011, Mr. Chey has been working as Executive Vice Chairman of SK Holdings, Chairman of the Board of Directors for SK Networks, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for SK Planet.

Concurrent with his business career, Mr. Chey serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS).
