Professor Academician Yang Yuliang, born in Zhejiang Province in 1952, is currently Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, and President of Fudan University.
Professor Academician Yang Yuliang graduated from Chemistry Department of Fudan University in 1977 and received his Ph.D. from Department of Materials Science at Fudan University in 1984. He worked as a post-doctor on macromolecular science at Max Planck Institute for Polymer research from 1986 to 1988. He started to work in Fudan University in 1988 and became Professor in 1993. He was awarded “Cheung Kong Scholar” in 1999, and was elected member of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. He also led the National “973” Project and National “863” Project. He was a faculty member of Fudan University before he was appointed Vice President for Research in 1999. In 2006, he was appointed Director General of the Department of Degree and Postgraduate Education, State Council of the People’s Republic of China. He inaugurated as President of Fudan University in January 2009.
Professor Academician Yang has made major research results in several fields. He has co-authored over 200 papers that are cited more than 1,150 times according to SCI. He received Science and Technology Progress Award Second Prize, Qiushi Outstanding Scientist Award, Science and Technology Progress Award from Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation and so on. He supervised Ph.D. candidates, and three of them were the authors of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation.
