Hao Ping

Director of Chinese National Commission for UNESCO

Dr. Hao Ping was born in Shandong Province in September, 1959. He is a full professor of Peking University(PKU) with a Ph.D. in International Relations.

In 1982, he received his B.A. in History at PKU. He served as the staff member in the Office of the President, PKU from 1982-1986 and the Deputy Director of the Office of Student Affairs, PKU from 1986-1991. From 1991-1992, he went to the East-West Centre, USA as a visiting scholar. He continued his postgraduate studies in University of Hawaii and got his M.A. in History in 1995. From 1995-2001, he served as Director of Office of International Programs, Assistant President of PKU (1997.04), Deputy Secretary-General of PKU Education Foundation (1998.09), and Executive Member of the CPC Standing Committee of PKU (1999.02), during which he got his Ph.D. 
in International Relations in PKU (1995-1999). He assumed the position of the Vice President of PKU and Executive Member of the CPC Standing Committee of PKU from 2001-2005 and the President of Beijing Foreign Studies University from 2005-2009. He has been the Vice Minister of Education, Director of Chinese National Commission for UNESCO since the year 2009.
